Pringle Peace and its main house were the meeting place for the eleven women from Stellenbosch, Somerset West, Grabouw and Worcester who met in Pringle Bay from 4-6 April 2025 at the invitation of Babsi Meylahn. The glorious late summer weather made it possible for hikes to take place on the beach and in the mountains, for the brave to swim in the sea, for other bathers to swim up and down the lagoon and for sundowners to be served on the deck. From time to time the baboons came to visit, seeking attention and causing excitement and laughter.
After a large portion of fish and chips (local and lekker), we started with a professional wine tasting took place. The delicious wines were presented and tasted in an informative and interesting way. Not a drop of the red, white or rosé wines, all generously donated, was left over. Plates and glasses were also well filled on the following days, from breakfast to dinner, from coffee and cakes to casseroles and salads, there was plenty to choose from and everything was irresistibly delicious.
Prepared devotions, texts and pictures, as well as the communal singing, provided rich food for the soul, and many a worry could be left behind on the altar under the candles.
What wonderfully happy and cheerful days, with plenty of opportunity to talk, listen, share, laugh and complain. How good it is to spend time with friends and like-minded people in such a wonderful place. Thank you, Babsi, for your home and thank you to everyone for being together.
