WATCHWORD AUGUST 2025
To this day I have had help from God, and so I stand here, testifying to both small and great.
Acts 26:22
TO THIS VERY DAY
Each day we wake up is purely a gift; it is a reminder that God has spared us once again for a reason. We are not here by accident. Whether we are young or old. God has placed a calling on each and every one of our lives.
Paul’s words in Acts 26:22 speak with power and clarity: “I have had God’s help to this very day, and so I stand here and testify”. For those of you who feel purposeless, this verse offers deep encouragement. Paul doesn’t say, I once had a purpose—he says I stand now, today, with help from God, and I testify.
As long as there is breath in our lungs, we are called. And that calling is this: to testify to who Christ is. To bear witness in all we do. To embody the truth that the gospel is not just a story. Christ lived, died, and rose again so that we might live with Him and for Him, every day.
And this message is not reserved for churches and pulpits. Like Paul, we are to speak and live the gospel to “small and great alike”. That might mean a quiet conversation with a family member, a kind word to a caregiver, or a prayer whispered on behalf of a stranger. No act is too small. No person is too insignificant. And no age is too old to be used by God.
May we wake up each day with this truth burning in our hearts: we are still here because God still has a purpose for us. And that purpose is to live and share the truth of Jesus Christ—faithfully, courageously, and joyfully.
